What is an entheogen?
An entheogen is a substance understood or used in a spiritual, ceremonial or meaning-centered context. The word is associated with awakening or generating the divine within. The term does not itself establish safety, legality or benefit.
What is Entheism?
Entheism is a concept introduced by Rev in his book to describe an enthusiastic, spiritually open way of living. It is not centered on taking entheogens. Its meaning is expected to be shaped over time by the behavior of people who bring greater spirit, meaning, enthusiasm, generosity and aliveness out in themselves and one another.
Is Entheism a religion?
No. Entheism is not an organized religion, church, doctrine or required system of belief. People are not asked to convert, identify as entheists, accept Rev as a spiritual authority or abandon their existing beliefs.
Is The Entheogen Series a cult?
No. The Entheogen Series is a free public educational and community program. It has no initiation, secret teachings, required beliefs, obedience structure, communal living arrangement, isolation requirement or obligation to give money. Rev introduced the word Entheism, but participants are not required to accept it or follow him.
Do I need to believe in a higher spirit?
No. The gatherings welcome people who are religious, spiritual, philosophical, scientifically oriented, uncertain or simply curious. The Series makes room for spiritual belief without requiring it.
Are entheogens consumed at the gatherings?
No. The gatherings focus on awareness through conversation, music, culture, ecology, science and risk-reduction education. The Series does not serve, sell, distribute, source or facilitate consumption of the featured entheogen.
Are these psychedelic ceremonies?
No. The gatherings are public music, education and community events. They are not psychedelic ceremonies, treatment sessions, retreats or facilitated-use experiences.
Why involve Indigenous knowledge holders?
Many entheogens cannot be understood responsibly when separated from people and traditions that have protected knowledge about them. Whenever possible, appropriate knowledge holders are invited to lead the relevant discussion and establish boundaries around what may be shared.
Are the gatherings free?
Yes. Initial gatherings are free, low-key community events held in free or donated outdoor spaces. Optional RSVP is used for practical updates, not paid admission.
Why are there donation QR codes?
Donations are voluntary and are not payment for attendance. All donations support the Entheology Project’s psychedelic risk-reduction efforts.
Do donations pay for The Entheogen Series?
No. Donations generated through the Series support the Entheology Project’s psychedelic risk-reduction work. Event production is supported separately through volunteers, in-kind contributions, donated spaces or equipment, sponsors and other documented resources.
Can I attend without discussing psychedelics?
Yes. People may attend for music, community, cultural education, ecology, spirituality or curiosity. No one is required to disclose personal experiences or beliefs.
